John Oliver Takes Blasts Donald Trump's National Anthem Protest Comments

John Oliver is winning Emmy awards for his work on the HBO talk show “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” He’s already working on winning another one next year.
After Trump called called for any player who protests during the National Anthem to be fired, going so far as to call them a “son of a b***h,” the sports world united. Protests in the NFL were as widespread as they’ve ever been, and his attempt to silence the protest appears to have had the opposite effect.
Trump’s inflammatory comments were made in a rally on Friday in Alabama, and “Last Week Tonight” airs on Sunday.
With little time to put the segment together, Oliver took aim at the President and issued some of the most cogent and plainly put evidence of our elected leaders ineptitude.

“I’m afraid it is true: The President of the United States took time out — while, it is worth noting, over 3 million American citizens in Puerto Rico are without power — to call Colin Kaepernick a son of a bitch.”
“Even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell denounced the president’s comments,” Oliver noted on Sunday. “And when you have lost the moral f—ing high ground to Roger Goodell, something is horribly wrong.”

Protests are likely to continue throughout the NFL, and will likely be prevalent once the NBA season kicks into gear as well. NBA players have been just as vocal and ready to take political action when they feel necessary.
Expect John Oliver to stay on the air for as least as long as Donald Trump is President.
The POTUS’ penchant for flapping his gums basically guarantees that he’ll never run out of material.
