Wake Forest Football Program Dismisses QB Kyle Kearns

The Wake Forest football program has dismissed quarterback Kyle Kearns for an unspecified violation of team rules. On Wednesday, Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson announced the dismissal of the redshirt freshman signal-caller.
Specific details that led to his dismissal from the program were not dismissed.
“I’ve said it from day one, that there will be standards in our program regarding how players act in our program, how they conduct themselves academically and how they conduct themselves socially,” Clawson said in a statement, via the Winston-Salem Journal.
“If a player chooses not to live up to those standards, these are decisions that they make,”
Kearns, a former three-star recruit, was buried on the team’s depth chart and was battling for the team’s No. 3 quarterback job.
In limited action last season, Kearns threw for 206 yards.
