Florida K Eddy Pineiro charged with misdemeanor property damage

Florida Gators kicker Eddy Pineiro found himself in a little bit of trouble after an on-campus incident which resulted in a misdemeanor property damage complaint.

According to Gainesville Sun writer Graham Hall, campus police filed a complaint against the sophomore kicker for damages worth $800. Pineiro allegedly damaged two scooters.

There is no word on how the complaint will keep Pineiro from participating in this weekend’s big game against the LSU Tigers, which was re-scheduled for Saturday night after Hurricane Matthew forced a delay earlier this year.

According to 247Sports’ Thomas Goldkamp, Florida head coach Jim McElwain said Pineiro’s status should not be impacted for the game, but it is unclear whether he was aware of the complaint at the time of Goldkamp’s question.

Kickoff between the No. 21 Gators and No. 16 Tigers is set for 1 p.m. ET in Baton Rouge.

Live coverage will be available on the SEC Network.
