Appalachian State sells out home game vs. Miami

The Appalachian State Mountaineers will be making some unprecedented history this year when they host a Power Five conference school in the Miami Hurricanes.

It looks like the fans in Boone, North Carolina will arrive in droves to the stadium on Saturday, Sept. 17.

It was announced on Tuesday that the tickets for that game at Kidd Brewer Stadium had sold out pretty quickly. After just an hour, the seats being sold to the general public were gone and the Mountaineers were on track for one of their biggest attendance numbers in history.

The Mountaineers were one of the hottest teams in the FCS back in the mid-2000s, winning three straight national titles from 2005 to 2007. They have had a pretty good run in the Sun Belt since moving up in 2014, winning seven games their first year and 11 games last year, including a win in their first ever bowl game appearance.

Appalachian State has a chance to win the Sun Belt this year and could even make some noise in the national picture with a win over Miami. This will certainly be one of the games to watch in Week 3 of the college football season.
