Syracuse women’s team advances to first Final Four

The Jim Boeheim Syraceuse men’s basketball team have done something surprising this year as they have advanced to the Elite Eight as a No. 10 seed. However, it’s the women’s team that has made even more history.

The Lady Orange beat the Tennessee Lady Volunteers 89-67 to advance to their first Final Four in team history. It was certainly a dominant win for the Lady Orange as they got 56 total combined point from seniors Alexis Peterson, Brianna Butler, and Brittney Sykes.

Half of the Final Four in Indianapolis has been set as the Lady Orange will take on the Washington Lady Huskies, a rematch of a November game that Syracuse won 66-62. The other half of the Final Four will be decided tomorrow as the UConn Lady Huskies take on the Texas Lady Longhorns and the Baylor Lady Bears take on the Oregon State Lady Beavers.

Whatever happens for the Orange, it has certainly been a great year. They will take on the Huskies next Sunday in Indianapolis.
