Wyoming CB Ryon’e Winters to transfer

Wyoming Cowboys cornerback Ryon’e Winters will transfer out of the program for “personal reasons,” according to a press release from the university which was reported by John Taylor of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk.

Winters also posted the following on his Twitter page:

“I have made the decision that I will no longer play football at the University of Wyoming for personal reasons, and I will be taking my talents elsewhere!” the Missouri native wrote. “I appreciate all the support and the relationships that I have gained with my fellow teammates and others along this journey!”

A former star at Missouri’s Grandview Senior High School, near the Kansas border, Winters appeared in nine games for Wyoming last season and had four tackles.

Winters has not given any indication as to where he will transfer, but Campus Sports will update this story as more information becomes available.
