WR Richard Mullaney transferring from Oregon State

On Friday night, the Oregon State Beavers announced the departure of wide receiver Richard Mullaney. New Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen confirmed the news that Mullaney would transfer.

“I want to thank Richard for his contributions during this coaching transition,” Andersen said in a statement, via College Football Talk. “It is his choice to transfer and we will support him as he moves into the next phase of his life.”

Mullaney’s 2014 campaign came to an end because of an elbow injury.

Now, Mullaney will look to finish his career in a new home. As a graduate transfer, the wide receiver will be eligible to suit up immediately.

“OSU and Reser Stadium will always be a special place for me and I’m very thankful of ‘Beaver Nation’ for all the support,” Mullaney said. “I also want to thank Coach Andersen for his support in my decision. I wish him and all of my former teammates the best of luck this season.”

During his time at Oregon State, Mullaney hauled in 83 passes for 1,160 yards and five touchdowns.

As for where Mullaney could land next, there are early reports that he could be eventually end up with the Alabama Crimson Tide after a visit.
