Venric Mark Will Transfer From Northwestern

Leading rusher and former All-American punt returner, Venric Mark has decided that he will transfer from Northwestern.  The development comes in the wake of a two-game suspension; however, Mark attributed the decision to wanting to be closer to his home in Houston.

In 2012, Mark was an All- Big 10 second team running back and All- American punt returner before missing most of the 2013 season due to recurring leg injuries. Per NCAA rules Mark received an extra year of eligibility under a medical redshirt, but has decided to use the extra season at another school.

In his breakout 2012 campaign, Mark rushed for 1,366 yards and 12 touchdowns.

To make matters even worse, the Wildcats announced that leading wide receiver Christian Jones will miss the entire 2014 season due to a knee injury.  Jones caught 54 passes for 668 yards last year.
