Vanderbilt DE Caleb Azubike has great NFL potential

Usually when it comes to the NFL Draft, you sometimes hear of underclassmen outshining the outgoing seniors. That is the case for the upcoming draft with most of the top prospects being juniors and redshirt sophomores and Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa being predicted as the number one overall pick next year.

NFL.com recently ranked some of the top senior prospects in the draft for next season and the list is full of some of the best players in college football for the upcoming season. One player who is certainly a dark horse in the NFL Draft but still has a ton of upside is Vanderbilt senior defensive end Caleb Azubike.

Azubike took the SEC by storm last season after he recorded thirty-eight tackles and four sacks as a junior. He has certainly made a ton of noise and the NFL has recognized it.

“Azubike has started just seven games for the Commodores, but he has 12 career sacks and his potential is as great as a night in downtown Nashville. He was born in Nigeria and moved from England as a youth, so he’s relatively inexperienced. I’ll bank on him stepping up his game using his powerful 6-foot-4, 270-pound frame as a senior.”

If being compared to a night in Nashville is any indication of how good Azubike can be in the NFL, you can expect that this guy will make an immediate impact in the NFL.

Fans will be able to see Azubike when the Commodores take the field on September 3 to play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
