UNLV Receives Commitment From Justin Jackson

Its been a long time since the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels were a Final Four team, but the memories haven’t been forgotten by most college basketball fans.  Their storied tradition along with their steady rise in recent years helped contribute to signing Justin Jackson, the no. 26 overall recruit in the 2016 class according to the ESPN Top 100.

Monday, the Canada native and Findlay Prep star gave word to head coach Dave Rice and assistant coach Todd Simon that he would play for their basketball program.

Jackson said he “felt a sense of family since the start of the recruiting process” and formed strong relationships with the coaching staff.

Simon, the former Findlay Prep head coach, has made an instant impact on the program in the recruiting circuits and struck gold with Jackson.

The Rebels are without a recruit in the current senior class, but freshman Rashad Vaughn could compensate for any lack of talent on the roster.  UNLV also added San Francisco transfer Cody Doolin. Rice and his team are coming off of a 20-13 campaign in which they did not qualify for a postseason for the first time since 2006.
