Former UCLA quarterback Asianti Woulard announced his decision to transfer to South Florida late last month. Usually when a college football player transfers within the FBS, he must sit out a season due to NCAA rules.
Wouldard doesn’t want to suffer that same fate for the 2015 season.
College Football Talk reported that Woulard is seeking a waiver to play immediately for the Bulls this season. There are no details on the matter of the waiver, but it is said that he is seeking it due to “family reasons.”
Since Woulard didn’t miss any time due to an injury recognized by UCLA, his chances for getting the waiver a long-shot right now. If his chances for a waiver are denied by the NCAA, he will have two years of eligibility left starting in 2016.
Woulard didn’t see any playing time during his two years at UCLA.
The Bulls open the 2015 season on September 5 when they host Florida A&M.
