UCLA reinstates DB Ishmael Adams

The UCLA Bruins football program has reinstated defensive back Ishmael Adams from indefinite suspension, per a tweet from Jack Wang of the L.A. Daily News.

Adams was suspended after being arrested on robbery charges, after he allegedly stole an Uber driver’s cell phone. Yesterday, however, the case was moved from the District Attorney’s office to that of the City Attorney, thus ensuring that Adams would not be charged with a felony.

This would be a great help for UCLA’s secondary, as Adams as 103 tackles and six interceptions in his time with the Bruins. Adams has also returned 36 kickoffs for 941 yards and 23 punts for 242 yards. Even though UCLA is 3-0 on the year, Adams’ return couldn’t be more perfectly timed, as the team is set to play the Arizona Wildcats in Tuscon on Saturday and his presence in the secondary will be welcomed with open arms.

With only misdemeanor charges coming, if any at all, UCLA probably figured it best to reinstate Adams and ensure continued success for the rest of 2015.

Kickoff against Arizona is slated for 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
