Two Duke football players sidelined permanently by injury

One day after Duke linebacker Kelby Brown saw his football career end due to a fourth torn ACL, tow more Blue Devils have had their careers cut short by injuries.

The football program announced in a press release on Wednesday that offensive lineman Kameron Schroeder and defensive lineman Michael Mann have been forced to end their playing careers due to injuries. No specifics were given as to what types of injuries caused the two to retire, other than that they had suffered upper-body injuries.

Like Brown, Schroeder and Mann will serve as undergraduate assistants for the Blue Devils.

Mann redshirted his freshman year in 2012, and appeared in seven games over the past two seasons, totaling four tackles, three of which came against Kansas in 2014, a game the Blue Devils won.

Schroeder, a reserve tackle coming out of spring practice, also redshirted his freshman year in 2014.
