Trayvon Reed Chooses Auburn

Earlier this summer, the Maryland Terrapins basketball program took a major hit when 7 foot 1 center Trayvon Reed was denied admission to the university.

Reed, the 84th ranked recruit in the 2014 class according to ESPN, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a police officer and was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree assault of a police officer and theft under $100.

The alleged incident, however, was just one of the many reasons the school deiced to admit him, but he announced Sunday that he will begin his collegiate career under head coach Bruce Pearl at Auburn.  Reed is just one credit shy of being able to join the Tigers and will spend the fall semester at Elev-8 Academy in Florida.  After the academic requirements are met, Reed should contribute immediately for coach Pearl and will be a major asset as the Tigers take on the bulk of their SEC schedule.
