Stanford and Texas finish their home-and-home in December

Last season, Stanford and Texas played at the Frank Erwin Center to begin a home-and-home series. The Cardinal beat the Longhorns 74-71 in overtime behind 25 points from senior Anthony Brown and 22 points from senior Chasson Randle.

Stanford went onto the NIT while Texas lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Butler.

And now the programs will be vastly different next season, and they will finish things off.

Texas fired Rick Barnes (who is now at Tennessee) and added Shaka Smart while returning one of the best point guards in the Big 12, Isaiah Taylor. They did lose Myles Turner and will have to implement a new system, but the Longhorns still do have plenty of talent.

On the flip side, the Cardinal lose Brown, Randle and Stefan Nastic to graduation and they aren’t as good as last season. They do return Reid Travis, Marco Allen and Rosco Allen, which helps experience wise.

This non-conference match-up certainly should get a few views come December.
