According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Popular Mechanics, who chose to spew venom in the direction of the Utah Utes by referring to their game against Harbaugh’s Michigan crew as a “cupcake game,” laid down its sword and spologized when they shipped a dozen cupcakes to the university.

To help soothe the wounds, Popular Mechanics also wrote a light-hearted note, signifying a treatise between the two:
“To the Utah Utes football program: We heard you guys have been reading Popular Mechanics. On behalf of our entire editorial staff — even the rabid Michigan fan who writes the monthly calendar — we want to wish you luck next week.”
Regardless of Utah trouncing Michigan last year 26-10, the not-so-insightful-on-college-football staff of Popular Mechanics might find it in their best interest to focus on laser-firing unmanned drones and the EMV chip migration.
