OU’s Hatari Byrd flips off Vols fans after 2OT win

The Oklahoma Sooners definitely earned the right to celebrate after pulling off a tough double-overtime win against the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville last night, but one young man might have gotten a bit too excited.

As the Sooners exited the field, safety Hatari Byrd gave a disgruntled Tennessee crowd the finger, and the action was caught on video by SB Nation’s Steven Godfrey.

Granted, this was likely a heat of the moment occurrence and Byrd probably went “Uh-oh!” to himself shortly after it happened, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that flipping the crowd off is something you just DON’T DO, be it on the collegiate or professional level.

Byrd’s gesture has not beed addressed apart from the fact that this video exists, but odds are that he is now going to be facing some sort of disciplinary action on some level. Campus Sports will update this story as any new information becomes available.
