No felony charges for Diddy in UCLA case

Sean “Diddy” Combs will not be charged with a felony in the infamous kettlebell case involving him and UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. Nathan Fenno of the Los Angeles Times reported the update.

Tracy Pierson of Scout.com offered more, explaining that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office saw strength in pursuing the case against the hip hop mogul.

“Sources inside the LADA’s office believe the case against Diddy is a good, pursuable one. As we’ve reported, UCLA’s athletic facility is equipped with security cameras, and reportedly the video footage of the incident is considered strong evidence. Campus police arrested Diddy Monday after they reviewed video.

“A source also indicated that there are other videos taken from personal cell phones of the incident. It’s anticipated that those videos will be made public fairly soon.”

Diddy is accused of attacking Alosi after Alosi allegedly kicked Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, out of a workout before then throwing a kettlebell weight at the staff. The younger Combs is a defensive back for the Bruins.

Reports later surfaced that Alosi had a history of being hard on Combs.

Nathalie Moar, a representative for Combs Enterprises, offered more in a statement: “The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate. What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.”

Charges aren’t expected to be filed for at least another month, but Campus Sports will update this story as more information becomes public.
