LSU Names Brandon Harris Starter vs. Auburn

True freshman Brandon Harris will take control of the offense for LSU on Saturday as he makes his first start ever on the road against (5) Auburn.

“It stands to reason that he would get first snaps in the next game,” said Les Miles at a press conference Monday morning.

After a dismal performance by usual starter Anthony Jennings against New Mexico State, Harris came into the game with 9;25 remaining in the second quarter. He finished the night going 11 for 14 with 178 yards passing and three touchdowns. He added 36 yards on the ground along with two rushing touchdowns.

His performance was rewarded with SEC Freshman of the Week honors, and now the chance to start full time.

His first career start will come on the road against the reigning SEC champions. Watch Harris and the rest of the Tigers take on Auburn at 7 p.m ET on ESPN.
