Lehigh loses SF Brandon Alston to torn ACL

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks men’s basketball team has suffered a big loss to its 2015-16 season hopes as small forward Brandon Alston has a torn ACL and will miss the entire season. Alston’s injury was reported on the program’s official Twitter page.

A sophomore, Alston averaged 4.9 points over 15.8 minutes per game last season, shooting 38 percent from the field and 36 percent from long range. Lehigh went 16-14 (10-8 Patriot) and did not participate in postseason play.

Alston’s role was likely to expand this season, and his injury could affect the Mountain Hawks’ overall performance. He is a talented player who can play both small forward and shooting guard, and his presence on the wing will be missed.

Campus Sports will update Alston’s recovery as all new information becomes available.

Lehigh opens the season against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome on November 13.
