Kyle Wiltjer to Return to Gonzaga For Senior Season

A key member of the Gonzaga Bulldogs is returning to school. According to Raphielle Johnson of NBC Sports’ CollegeBasketballTalk, forward Kyle Wiltjer will return to the team for his senior season.

A Kentucky transfer, Wiltjer averaged 16.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game as a junior. He shot 54 percent from the field and made 46.6 percent of his threes, very impressive for someone 6-foot-10, 240 pounds. Combined with the return of teammate Domantas Sabonis, Gonzaga is once again in a position to run away with the West Coast Conference and then make a lot of noise in the big dance.

Moreover, returning for his senior season gives Wiltjer the opportunity to further develop his mid-range game, not to mention beef up so that he doesn’t get run over on the defensive end. In doing so, he can become a more complete player and instantly become a player to watch on next year’s draft boards.

Most important of all, however, is how much his return will help Gonzaga, a team to automatically watch in 2015.
