Kentucky freshman gives up social media for 8 weeks

In today’s society, social media is intertwined with our every day lives. Unfortuantely, that can create a distraction and can often lead to some procrastination while we scroll through our timelines to see the latest news or comments from our friends.

If you are a college athlete, social media can become even more of a distraction.

However, for Kentucky Wildcats freshman Skal Labissiere, social media will not get in the way of his preparation for the upcoming season thanks to a self-imposed ban.

On Sunday night, the 7-foot, 220-pounder swore off social media for two months so he can be put all of his attention on summer school and his season preparation.

You have to appreciate this type of dedication towards improving his craft. Wildcats fans will be hoping that pays off on the court.
