Jeff Green Donates $1 million to Georgetown University

Entering the 2007 college basketball season, forward Jeff Green was far from a household name.  When that year ended though, Green went on to be the fifth overall pick and the undisputed leader of the Georgetown Hoyas final four team.  Now, Green will give $1 million back to the school where he established himself as one of the premier players in all of college basketball.

Georgetown University is in the process of building the John R. Thompson Jr. Intercollegiate Athletics Center, and the contribution will go a long way towards the construction of the $62 million project.   The current member of Boston Celtics joins fellow Georgetown alum Patrick Ewing, who made a contribution of 3.3 million earlier this month.

The complex is named after the former Hoyas Hall of Fame coach and will  play host to all 29 of the Washington D.C. college’s sports teams.
