South Carolina Gamecocks redshirt freshman wide receiver Shaq Davidson has suffered a knee injury and will miss the 2015 season. A staff report from The State reported the development.
A former four-star recruit out of Gaffney High, where he starred as a quarterback, Davidson has already one knee surgery and coach Steve Spurrier said he would have another in six weeks. He was seeking to become a part of the regular receiver rotation this season and will now likely seek a medical redshirt so that he may have a sixth season of eligibility.
This is unfortunate news for Davidson, who also had injury issues throughout high school, but hopefully he can recover quickly and get back on the field for the 2016 campaign.
