Former Murray State guard excited to be in 2K16

For any ten to fifteen-year-old kid (gender neutrality is awesome) one of the best, or worst depends on how you look at it, things to do is to spend hours creating a player in Madden to do two things: A) Resemble your real-life self in the best way possible, besides having overly defined biceps, and B) Terrorize your buddies when you put ALL his state up to 99 on everything, including “Kick Power” because what running back DOESN’T kick field goals on a regular basis.

You were either the hero or the villain in these cases. You could be the bad guy and put your unstoppable monster of a player on the best team and run all your buddies.

Or you could be the guy that, despite the odds being stacked against you, you just use your pure skills at Madden at shut your friend up and make him delete the character.

The same goes for basketball game like NBA 2K.

The second you dunk on your friend’s character and everyone watching goes absolutely insane is when you know that you’re just purely better than your friend.

Now that I’ve reminisced about the good ole days, I can tell you about former Murray State guard and NBA prospect Cameron Payne recently did a Q & A session discussing his time with the Racers and his experiences in New York as he awaits for the NBA Draft. The question of him relaxing came up and he said that playing video games is his favorite hobby. Now he has the chance to be in NBA 2K16 and he’s beyond excited about that.

ESPN college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman posted on Twitter about how Payne is excited for getting his face scan for his in-game character.

Payne averaged 16.8 points, 5.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game as a freshman for the Racers. Last season, he won the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year award after averaging 20.2 points, 6.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. His time in college has made him a dark horse in this year’s NBA Draft.

Wherever Payne ends up, I’m sure he will be able to contribute immediately. I’m also sure that people all over the country, including Payne himself, will be using his character in NBA 2K16 once it is released later this year.
