Former Duke point guards now playing in Cleveland together

Kyrie Irving and Quinn Cook were both terrific guards with the Duke Blue Devils. Irving was there for the 2010-11 season before exiting for the NBA Draft. Cook played all four seasons, from 2011-2015, and graduated before he went to the draft.

In 2011, when Cook was just beginning his collegiate career, Irving’s professional career was also beginning as he was selected as the number one overall pick in the draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The two are now going to have the opportunity to play on the same team, something that could have happened had Irving decided to stay one more year.

A photo surfaced on Instagram of the two in Cavalier gear. Cook went undrafted in 2015 and he signed a contract with the Cavs earlier this summer, while Irving signed a new contract in 2014, keeping him in Cleveland for at least two more seasons.

Both of these two will be remembered for everything they did for the Blue Devils. During his only season in Durham, Irving led the team to an ACC Championship and an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen. Cook helped this team to a national championship last season.

I’m sure fans will be excited to see these two on the court together this season.
