Ex-Pitt DB Titus Howard transfers to Slippery Rock

Former Pittsburgh Panthers defensive back Titus Howard will resume his college career at the Division II level. According to Karlo Zovko of 247Sports.com, Howard will suit up for Slippery Rock (Pa.) in 2015.

Howard chose Slippery Rock over potential top-tier suitors like UCLA and West Virginia.

Because Howard has decided to revive his career in D-II, he will be able to immediately play. Were Howard to have decided on UCLA or West Virginia, NCAA transfer rules would have forced the defensive back to spend 2015 on the sidelines.

As a freshman, Howard played in 11 games and recorded  21 tackles and two pass breakups.

Howard was then suspended for the entire 2014 season due to a violation of unspecified team rules. Howard was then dismissed from the program for another team rules violation.
