Ex-Huskies G Nigel Williams-Goss transfers to Gonzaga

Gonzaga underwent a makeover in their backcourt as they transition from veteran guards Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell Jr. to youngsters Josh Perkins, Eric McClellan (done after this year) and Silas Melson.

The Bulldogs will add another stud to the backcourt in 2016-17 as former Washington point guard Nigel Williams-Goss has committed Mark Few. He has to sit out this upcoming season due to NCAA transfer eligibility rules.

The 6’3″ Happy Valley, Oregon native averaged 15.6 points per game, 5.9 assists, 4.7 rebounds in his sophomore year with the Huskies and developed into one of the best guards in the nation. He averaged 13.4 points per game during his freshman stint.

Williams-Goss has NBA potential and his size gives his opponents nightmares as he is able to attack the hoop and finish with ease. The guard does need to work on his three point shot but if shooters can be placed around him on the perimeter, he will find them with the perfect passes.

While Gonzaga’s strength in 2015 will be their front court, 2016 will be focused yet again on the backcourt as Przemek Karnowski, Kyle Wiltjer, and possibly Domantas Sabonis will move forward.
