Ex-Bama RB Tyren Jones to start over at JUCO

Tyren Jones was dismissed from the Alabama football team in March after what was a troubled history during his time with the team. He served a one-game suspension in October and was then suspended in the middle of February for conduct that was described as “not to the standard of Alabama football.”

The final straw was Jones getting arrested and charged with second-degree marijuana possession in March.

Jones has now found himself a new home and a place to restart his career.

According to College Football Talk, Hutchinson Community College head football coach Rion Rhoades confirmed that he will be transferring to the school in Kansas. He told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that it had been a long time coming.

“He really just wasn’t ready to do anything until about I’d say three or four weeks ago,” the coach told the Journal-Constitution. “We started feeling like he was getting a little more serious, and then two weeks ago, he came out on a visit. He got to see the place in person, and get a feel for our coaches. We’ve got a few guys on campus this summer, and he was able to meet those guys.”

Jones was a four-star member of Alabama’s 2013 recruiting class and, after redshirting his freshman year, he was fourth on the team in rushing with 224 yards and two touchdowns. Hopefully, Jones will be able to get his act together and get back into the main scene of college football, but for now, he will have to wait.
