Turk said he'll talk to Reavis & his family about any legal options they might pursue. Didn't specify what those would be aimed at. #Hokies

Turk reiterated nothing criminal is being pursued against Reavis. "The commonwealth’s attorney wouldn’t touch this with a 10-foot pole."

No reason has been given for why Reavis had a student conduct hearing to begin with, but the fact of the matter is that his dismissal leaves the Hokies with a glaring hole in the secondary. Reavis appeared in 12 games as a true freshman last year and posted eight tackles and half a sack while playing primarily on special teams. The former three-star recruit out of Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia, near Richmond, was expected to be a starter on the team this season.
Instead, head coach Frank Beamer and defensive coordinator Bud Foster will have to look to another player to fill the void. Virginia Tech ranked 15th in the nation defending the pass last season, and Reavis easily could have helped the team move up in that regard.
Just what happens next for him remains to be seen, but Campus Sports will update this story as any and all new information becomes available.
