Accuser of Leonte Carroo shares scary details

An assault case against Rutgers star wide receiver Leonte Carroo is looming. A former girlfriend of Carroo (who remains unidentified) accused him of grabbing her from behind, picking her up and dropping her onto the concrete.

But, the precursor of the incident was when the victim claimed a group of people was following her, which included Carroo’s current girlfriend, as she was leaving her job at the training facility.

A scuffle most likely ensued between the girl and/or some other of the people in the group, as she reported chunks of her hair being pulled out.

Furthermore, she said that after Carroo dropped her, a girl in the group began hitting her with a traffic cone. Carroo was the only person arrested in the incident, and his current girlfriend declined being interviewed about the incident.

Carroo is pleading not guilty in the case, but the permanent suspension of five of his other teammates doesn’t boast well for the team’s reputation; four were arrested for assault and one for armed home invasions.

All five have been permanently suspended from the Scarlet Knights. Carroo is currently under an indefinite deferment.

And it doesn’t seem to be just the players in trouble, either. Coach Kyle Flood was suspended for three games and fined $50,000 for bypassing proper protocol when he contacted a professor about a players academic standing.

The New Jersey team seems to be falling apart with all the unlawful activity surrounded the players – and the coach. Their game against Penn State may suffer without coach Flood, Carroo and former starters Nadir Barnwell, Andre Boggs, and Delon Stephenson.

I’m sure the simple assault case will bring about more controversy when it comes up in court. Until then, we will just have to cross our fingers in hope that the Scarlet Knights don’t find themselves in anymore handcuffs.
