Adonis Jennings to Transfer to Temple

Pittsburgh Panthers four-star wide receiver Adonis Jennings, who only appeared in six games his freshman season and caught six passes for 55 yards, will transfer to Temple University. Owls head football coach Matt Rhule confirmed the news.

Jennings is also seeking a waiver that will allow him to play immediately rather than sit out the usual year, per NCAA rules. The waiver is likely that he is transferring for family reasons, as Temple is closer to his hometown of Erial, New Jersey. If granted, he will be able to suit up next season. As of now, no decision has been reached.

Jennings now leaves a Pittsburgh team that went 6-6 (4-4 ACC) in 2014 under Paul Chryst, who has since left for Wisconsin and replaced with former Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi. He will join a Temple squad that also went 6-6 (4-4 AAC) last season, but has struggled to establish itself as an elite program.

Either way, it’s a huge get for the Owls and once his eligibility is sorted out, Jennings will make this team one to watch.
